The East Coast of America is a very popular holiday destination today with British tourists, with such areas to visit as New York, Boston, Washington, Cape Cod and Atlantic City among others. With so many places to see and things to do the options are endless.
Short breaks in New York, Washington DC, Chicago and Boston are very popular for sightseeing, shopping, taking in a show and most of all having a great time. As popular as the short breaks are, more and more people are using these gateway cities as stopovers to explore more and more of North America. These cities could be used as the first part of your multi centre holiday in america encompassing, holiday in Florida, holiday in California, Las Vegas holiday or even Hawaiian holiday.
Boston & New England: This wonderful area of the North East stirs up images of time-honoured, peaceful village life, of vibrant colours in the Fall and magnificent mountains and beaches. New England is all this and more. Cape Cod is a great place to wh ale watch and hunt for antiques. The summers are warm and sunny, spring and autumn are pleasantly mild and the winter months are characterised by short days and colder weather.
Pennsylvania: Why not visit Philadelphia, ‘The Cradle of Liberty’, where the Declaration of Independence was signed. Pennsylvania is also famous for its Amish settlers in Lancaster. And perhaps the most notorious battlefield in US history was created here, Gettysburg.
Washington D.C. & the Capital Region: If you decide to visit Washington D.C. why not combine it with a trip to the hustle and bustle of Baltimore. There is also colonial Williamsburg and the colonial charm of Richmond, Virginia. For a complete contrast why not spend a few days of the golden sands of Virginia Beach.
